The Cosmopolis International festival held in the Old Town of Kavala is an excellent opportunity to get to know cultures from all over the world through dance and music groups, ethnic cuisine, cinema, exhibitions and a colorful street bazaar with booths of the participating countries.
The Yiannis Papaioannou Festival covers the field of classical music and jazz. It includes concerts and seminars for students and teachers from conservatories around the world.
In Keramoti, the municipal camping hosts the festival "Beside the Wave" where big names of modern Greek music appear.
Folkloric is the character of the "Sun and Stone" festival that takes place in "Akondisma" of Karvali with the participation of traditional dance groups from all over the world.
Remarkable cultural events can also be seen in Philippi with the festival "Ta mystika tis valta", in Chrysoupoli with the People's Festival and in Nea Peramos with the concerts in the wonderful place of Anaktoroupoli.
At the beginning of Autumn, the "Potato Festival" takes place in the village of Lekani. Thousands of visitors from all over the region taste the delicacies based on the potato.
A popular celebration of taste and the "Festival of Livestock" that takes place at the beginning of October in the picturesque Platamonas, with the dominant taste suggestion being the boiled goat.
The "Chestnut Festival" takes place every October in one of the most traditional villages of the prefecture, in Paleochori.
In the Nestos area, the "Asparagus Festival" in Keramoti is one of the biggest joyous festivals and takes place in June.
"The Watermelon Festival" in Erateino does not lag behind in ingenuity, notes of joy and entertainment. The August "Grape Festival" in Elaiochori cannot be described in any other way... it is intoxicating! A real festival that starts early and only ends when the…endless wine runs out.
The "Wine and Culture" festival is organized in August in Kokkinochori, with the aim of highlighting local products.
On Clean Monday, the Cavaliotes "catch the snake" in Chalkeros and celebrate the beginning of Lent in a traditional way and with fasting delicacies. On the same day, celebrations are also held in many other regions of the Prefecture such as Heraklitsa, Philippi and Akrovuni.

In Eleftheroupolis every July events are held that last the whole month and include musical, dancing, visual and folklore events. A special day is the Feast of Klidon, in Varousi of Eleftheroupoli on the eve of June 24.
On July 20, the feast of the Prophet Elias, the "Tsania" custom is revived in Paleochori Pangaio, in his honor. A traditional festival for the Prophet Elias is also held in the village of Philippi.
In mid-August folk festivals are organized in Nea Peramos, Gravouna and Iraklitsa.
