On the hill of Skarkos, there is the homonymous Proto-Cycladic settlement with its cemetery. The Bronze Age civilization (2000-1500 BC) that flourished there was destroyed by the eruption of the Thera volcano. The settlement has an area of approximately 11 acres and is kept in very good condition.
