Amfissa is also famous for its remarkable cultural events. ("Seals", "Carnival", "Feast of Olives"). "Fokika" are organized every August and include a number of different events. "The Olive Festival", takes place every two years and includes exhibitions from olive processing plants. Very beautiful is the carnival of Amfissa, which is associated with local legends. On the last Sunday of Halloween, the famous burning of the carnival takes place, accompanied by feasting and dancing, but the most impressive thing happens the night before, that is, the night of the "elements of Harmaina". Harmaina, the largest element of the area, starts from the district of the same name to find and "confront" the two immediately largest elements of tradition, Grizos and Tekolis. All this, of course, they are held in a mysterious atmosphere, since the area is full of burning torches that make the atmosphere even more intense. A host of other black-clad elves wander around, wearing and dragging chains. Of course, the night could not be without plenty of food, usually tripe and plenty of wine.
