In the Cave of Za, the oldest traces of habitation of Naxos have been identified and date back to the Late Neolithic era (4th millennium), while the use of the cave continued without interruption until late historical times. After an archaeological investigation, tools and objects from the prehistoric era were found. The cave is located in the N.E. of the village of Filoti, (there is a road to the spring in Argia and from there a path). Unfortunately, the cave has not been exploited so that there is access to its interior.
