HISTORICAL ECCLESIASTICAL MUSEUM OF KANALIA - Pelion

The Historical-Ecclesiastical Museum of Kanalia is located in the village of Kanalia in the Municipality of Karla. It is housed in a landscaped area that is part of the church of the Dormition of the Virgin. The church in its current form was inaugurated in 1960 during the reign of Metropolitan Dimitrias Damascenes. The Museum houses various utensils and ecclesiastical objects that were saved from the old church (1804) after it was set on fire by the Germans in 1943. The Museum premises also exhibit informative and photographic material related to the history of the church and the historical route of the village of Channels.
