It is housed in an old railway station building (Karajovas station) and despite being disproportionately small, it is extremely organized and laid out to enable the visitor to get a clear picture of the area. Of particular interest is the paleontology section, which includes fossils of plant and animal organisms that lived millions of years ago, as well as photographs of plants that thrive in the area's mountains. Traditional costumes from various regions of Almopia are displayed in a special room.
At the Natural History Museum of Aridaia, there are currently four rooms with exhibits that are enriched daily.
Hall of Fossils and Paleontology
There are exhibits of fossils found from excavations in Almopia and from other regions of Greece. Important are the exhibits of the fossilized bones of Ursus Spelaeus (skull and fossilized bones) found in cave B of the Loutra cave park during the excavations carried out by the Department of Geology - Paleontology of the University of Athens. with assistant in charge Prof. dr. Tsoukala Evangelia. Also on display are fossils from Trilobites aged approximately 500 million years. Also in a special area we see collections of minerals and rocks characteristic of Almopia and other regions of Greece.
Phytology Hall
Plants and typical species of fauna of the region are exhibited as well as photographic material from various regions of Greece. Periodic thematic exhibitions are organized in special rooms of the Museum. In the current period we have an exhibition of traditional costumes of our region and in another room there is an exhibition of traditional musical instruments
