It was founded in the year 1972 and the most important of its exhibits are old charters, insurance contracts, various nautical diaries, which describe the life of the Andriotians on the ships before the 1821 Race, lithographs of Andriotian ships and the later first steam-powered cargo ships of Greece, etc. Also on display are models of ships, from old schooners to today's huge tankers. These exhibits are original and present vividly the entire history of Andriot's commercial shipping, from ancient times to the present day.
