The Military War Museum 1940 - 41 is located at the entrance of Kalpaki, Its exhibits include - among others - guns, portable weapons, uniforms, photographs and other items of the time. In addition, through the graphic and audio representation of the battles of the Greco-Italian war, the visitor feels a thrill of emotion and national pride, as he is in the place where the heroic NO was transformed into action.
Directly opposite the Museum, the busts of Alexander Papagos, George II and Ioannis Metaxas have been erected. A few meters further, the traveler encounters the cave that was the tactical headquarters of the Commander of the 8th Division, Charalambos Katsimitros, during the war. In the cave there is the bust of Katsimitro and a plaque commemorating the extract of the order of the 8th Division issued on 30-10-1940. The order in question concludes with these words: "NO IDEA IN ANYONE OF RETREAT. EVERYONE FROM THE GENERAL COMMANDING THE DIVISION DOWN TO THE LAST SOLDIER WILL FIGHT FOR OUR POSITIONS AND IF NECESSARY ALL THE DEFENDANTS WILL FALL".
On the north side of Kalpaki, at the top of Seilitoura hill, dominates the giant bronze statue of the Greek fighter of the 1940s, the work of the sculptor and professor Lazaros Lameras. This monument was erected in 1966 at the expense of officers and men of the armed forces. Bones of the war dead have been deposited at the base of the statue. Every year, on the anniversary of October 28, official events take place there and an impressive re-enactment of the battles takes place with the participation of residents and soldiers. The required tribute is thus paid to the fallen heroes of the war.
