The neoclassical mansion of Zoulinos (19th century) houses the Public Library together with the Collection of Post-Byzantine Pictures of Heptanese art. The Library, founded in 1953, has 60,000 volumes of books (from the 16th century to the present day), newspapers and magazines, engravings and maps of the island. Local costumes, medals and decorations as well as personal belongings of prominent Lefkadians are also exhibited in the ground floor area. Since 2001, the children's section, the lending and reading rooms, the Public Information Center (for internet access), as well as the Dimitrios S. Ginis Collection have been operating in the Library.
