The Olive and Olive Oil Museum is housed in an area of 400 meters located near the port of Prinos, where the Biological Olive Mills of Thassos are also hosted. From the Museum area one can observe the production and packaging of olives in the neighboring Olive Mill. The permanent exhibition includes a collection of exhibits related to olive pressing and olive oil production as well as photographic material of various olive varieties, oil pressing, extraction of olive juice, olive flora, etc. In the estate around the museum there is an exhibition space of about 40 olive varieties, an information space with video presentations, as well as an exhibition of olive products. On the north-eastern side of the estate, a Pithaion was discovered by the Administration of Antiquities, i.e. a storeroom with 16 jars which obviously served as storage for another olive mill or farmhouse.
