It is located in the northwest of the historical village of Bresthena. The church was the catholicon of the monastery but at the same time a cathedral and the seat of the Bishopric of Bresthenes at the beginning of the 18th century. It is a three-aisled vaulted basilica that preserves the original marble iconostasis and most of its frescoes, which date back to the 1400s.
