Close to Voros dominates the Monastery of Keras Eleousa, which was founded during the period of the Venetian occupation. The choice of the fortified site, the architectural type reminiscent of a fortress and the battlements on the eastern side of the enclosure suggest that at the time of its foundation there was a particular need for security, due to pirate raids. The monastic complex is built on three levels and around the Catholic are spread the cells of the monks and the auxiliary spaces: an oil press, a wine press, a water collection tank, stables and storerooms.
