The Monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin is located in the southwest of Metsovo, exactly where the Metsovitikos and the Aniliotikos intersect, which are tributaries of the Arachthos. The Monastery, built in a ravine, looks like a fortress and is surrounded by a high wall.
