In the Palaiokastro of Kastellorizo (Megistis), in addition to the ancient acropolis, part of whose walls have been preserved, as well as ruins of houses and cisterns from the Middle Byzantine period, there are also five single-room arched churches.
One of these small churches, Panagia Paleokastritissa has been converted into a small monastery. The courtyard of the monastery is paved with beautiful pebbles bearing the date 1858, while in the church, the despotic icons of the iconostasis bear the date 1852.
The view from the courtyard of the small monastery is magnificent while the scattered ruins create a charming atmosphere
