The men's Hermitage of Agios Kyprianos is located south of Pothia, in the location of Vothyoni and covers an area of 20 acres. The original church was built on April 29, 1921 by American expatriates and later monks Theokletos (+1926) and Makarios (+1933). An inscription placed at the entrance of the present church is preserved, commemorating them as founders. In 1950, the single-aisle church of Saints Kyprian and Justin was built, and in 1986, the church of the Blessed Makarios of Alexandria and Saint Theoklitos, Archbishop of Lacedaemonia, was added next to it. In the Hermitage, where 3 monks live, exorcisms are still performed today (tel. 22430-24626).
