MATHRAKI
Mathrakis is the smallest island of the Diapontian Islands with an area of only 3 sq km. It is the southernmost tip of the Ionian Sea and has only 100 registered permanent residents.

The island is particularly sparsely populated, with its dense vegetation hiding many of the small houses of the settlements. The residents have divided the island into Ano Panda which is located in the southern parts of the island and Kato Panda towards the north. Mathraki is only 4 miles from Corfu, and when one arrives at its port one will find a unique traditional cafe-kitchen that welcomes the island's visitors.

On the island the life of the inhabitants is simple. Their main occupation is fishing. The visitor to the island can follow the small stone paths along the entire length of the island to explore the island and also enjoy the magnificent view of the endless sea that stretches around it. Of course, the small beaches of the island are also secluded, offering generous peace and tranquility. In Mathraki there is Portelo beach, which occupies a large part of the island in the north-east, and which stands out for its special beauty and shallow waters.
