The traditional settlement of Chora is built at an altitude of about 200 meters from the sea and is 3.4 kilometers from Karavostasis. The cobbled streets and alleys, the many contiguous squares, which are a unique residential characteristic in all of the Cyclades, the well-kept houses with the small whitewashed yards and the Castle are the main characteristics of the Town. The walk through the narrow streets of Chora is free, since the passage of wheeled vehicles is not allowed.
The view of the northern, precipitous side of the Castle in the square of Pounta, the midday break in the shade of the square of Dunavides and the evening vibrancy of the square of Piazza make up the image that the visitor forms in his first contact with the Town.
