Tradition says that this cave was used by the philosopher Pythagoras whenever he wanted to be alone to reflect on issues that concerned him. According to another tradition, he himself hid in this cave, at the time when he was being pursued by the tyrant Polycrates. The Cave of Pythagoras is located at the foot of Mount Kerki and is of great interest to the visitor of Samos.
