It is worth it to wander through the narrow picturesque streets of Chorio, but the route itself will repay you as you will be given the opportunity to admire the beautiful mansions of Ano Symi.
On the western side of the Village, at the highest point stands the Castle, built on the ancient acropolis. Traces of Pelasgian walls have been found in the acropolis, as well as ceramics from the Mycenaean era. Also, many coats of arms from the time of the John Knights have been preserved. All phases of the island's history meet at the Castle. At its top, the church of Megali Panagia or Kyra, as the locals call it, stands out.
In the Kastro position, two fortified enclosures from historical times have been preserved.
In various places (Symi town, Pedi, Panormitis) remains or traces of early Christian buildings. In Niborio, ruins of an early Christian basilica (on the site of the Panagia and Agia Kara chapels). Marble architectural members in second use in small churches in the area. Fragments of mosaics are preserved, including a representation of a camel.
