Elliniko is a location in Kynouria, 8 km SW of Astros, on the Astros-Agios Petros road, with few houses. In an adjacent location and on the hill Teichios there are remains of an ancient settlement which is probably identified with the ancient city of Thyrea. Parts of walls from the 5th, 4th and 3rd centuries BC have been preserved.
Remains of buildings and tanks from the same era are also preserved. Traces of habitation from the Mycenaean period have also been identified in the same area.
