GIANNITSA TOMB (Archaeological Site)

Near the southern base of the mound of Messianos, the violated tomb of Giannitsa was found, the facade of which had been stoned in ancient times. It is 6.70m wide. length 10.30 m. and height 6.10m. and is covered with a continuous arch opening 5.10m. Originally four Doric semi-columns supported the trigo and the pediment, forming a wide-fronted facade. From the findings recovered from the tomb and the mound, it can be dated to the beginning of the 3rd century BC.
