A well-preserved fortress, a five-sided enclosure with two-story towers (4th - 1st century BC), was excavated on the low hill of Trypini Petra, between the foothills of Mount Kerdylio and the beach of Vrasna, which controlled Strymonikos gulf and the passage to Thrace.
