AGKIDIA (Archaeological Site) - Naxos

The settlement of Agidia (or Aggidia) is located 5 km south of Chora, near the village of Galanado. North of the village are the archaeological sites of Agidi and Melani. In the area, the tyrant Lygdamis (523 BC) built an aqueduct (11 km long) to supply water to the ancient city and the surrounding areas. Remains of the Sanctuary of the Springs, dedicated to the goddess of Euphoria, have been preserved. Parts of columns with lines, column bases, capitals are visible in the space. etc.
