In the Medieval city near the north-eastern walls, between the current commercial port and Mandraki, is the ancient Temple of Limenia Aphrodite which dates back to the 3rd BC. century. The temple is of small dimensions, vestibule and "en parastasi" (i.e. with columns in front and between the pilasters formed by the side walls). It is of the Ionic style, in the shape of a P, built with pumice stone and plastered. At the bottom of the nave was the cult statue of the goddess Aphrodite, probably that of Aidoumis Aphrodite which is in the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes.
