The citadel of ancient Lindos is located at the top of a vertical rock above the sea, while next to the cliff, there are the ruins of the temple from the 4th century and the sanctuary of Lindia Athena. At this point, figurines from the 8th century, many bases of statues from the Hellenistic Era, with the signatures of their creators, have been found, which prove the great activity of the Rhodian School, and small objects from Roman Times. It is one of the most important archaeological sites of Rhodes, with impressive buildings such as the Long Stoa, the ruins of the temple of Dionysus, the ancient theater with bleachers dug into the rock and the tomb of Cleoboulos. In the area of the acropolis and on the slopes of Cape Krana, the land is strewn with ruins of tombs, while after the main entrance, there are the medieval palace and the old Byzantine church of Agios Ioannis.
