On the north side of the Vathi settlement, at the Embola site in the Hellenistic fortress (late 4th BC - early 3rd BC), is the early Christian basilica of Taxiarchi Michael. In the area there are architectural elements from older periods, mainly from the Hellenistic era, which were used in the construction of the three-aisled basilica that dates back to the 1st quarter of the 6th century AD. century. The floors have mosaic decoration with mainly geometric themes. In the southern aisle of the basilica is also built the single-aisled, arched church of Taxiarchi Michael, which is largely covered by frescoes from the 13th-14th centuries.
