The Fampeio Museum of Art is housed in the old Primary School of Lafkos Magnesia, in the southern part of Pelion, 50 km from the city of Volos. It was founded in 2005 in honor of the artist Thanasis Fampas (1922-2011). In his painting, which is influenced by archaic austerity and Byzantine iconography, the female figure dominates. He has edited book covers by G. Ritsos, M. Lountemis, H. Lefousis, I. Tsatsos as well as classical music disc covers. Paintings (60 paintings) and 8 statues (made of white marble from Pelion) are exhibited in the halls of the Museum, donated by the artist himself.
