One of the most important museums in Greece is the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. In this museum, the historical development of one of the most brilliant sanctuaries of antiquity is presented, which was dedicated to the father of gods and men, Zeus, and was the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The visitor, during his tour, will come into contact with findings from the excavations in the sacred area of Altea, which date from prehistoric times to the early Christian years. Some of the most important exhibits are the exhibition of sculptures, as well as the collection of bronze objects, which is the richest in the world and consists of weapons, figurines and other objects, while the finds of large pottery are also particularly important.
