The Center of Mediterranean Mosaics operates in Dion, in which there is a mosaic art workshop. Every year about 50 students are taught the art of mosaic by expert craftsmen. The technique they use is that of the ancient Macedonians, while the subjects are inspired by the mosaics of the archaeological site of Dion.
Every summer in the exhibition spaces of the Center of Mediterranean Mosaics there is an exhibition of mosaic works by the students as well as by renowned artists.
It should be noted that in ancient Dion the art of mosaics was highly developed. Famous are the mosaics in the mansion of Dionysos, which are preserved in very good condition.
The Center of Mediterranean Mosaics of Dion operates under the responsibility of the Municipality of Dion.
