The great tradition of Pyrgos in sculpture and the multitude of artists who were born there, prompted the creation of this Museum. The Museum of Tinian Artists includes works of sculpture and painting by Tinian artists, past and present. It was founded in 1930 and has been continuously enriched since then. Only a portion of the works come from purchases by the Foundation, which has never ceased to support the arts and letters.
The Holy Foundation of Evangelistria in Tinos has not stopped supporting artists (among them many famous painters and sculptors) from Tinos. The Museum's collection includes copies and original works by the painters Gyzi and Lytra, as well as sculptures by Halepas, Philippotis and Sochos.
