MARINE MUSEUM

The creation of the Maritime Museum is due to the efforts and incredible passion of doctor Petros Armenis. After being busy for years, he managed to collect a lot of exhibits, having the help and support of old sailors. The Museum opened its doors in September 2008.
The many and rare exhibits are impressive, starting from the prehistoric era, with tools made of obsidian (the hard volcanic rock of Milos), moving on to the naval battle of Salamis and reaching up to modern times. The visitor will also admire rare maps, made by the hands of expert cartographers, while a prominent place in the Museum - placed in a special display case - is the canoe of Mikelis, the Milo pilot of the Codrictes, whose murder caused the naval battle of Navarino. Also worth noting is "Irini", the famous wooden boat of Giannis. The Museum is housed in Adamantas, Milos.
Opening hours: 18.00 - 22.00
