The exhibition of the objects is done in accordance with the modern museological concept, with explanatory texts, photographs, drawings, models and is enriched every year with new exhibits. It includes 7 rooms in which the following sections are developed: "Chamber house", "Silk", "Ceramics", "Copanelli", "Stone-Masons", "Church, Woodcarving".
In the historical section of the Museum, weapons and swords from the long-term struggle of the Cretans for freedom are exhibited, a small part of the paintings and historical lithographs, in which the most important events of Greek and Cretan history are graphically depicted. Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, Turkish, Cretan State and Syracuse coins (405-345 BC). Also medals of Gavalochorians, won on the battlefields.
