FOLKLORE MUSEUM OF MELIGGON - Ioannina

A few kilometers after the ancient Dodoni, on the slope of Tomaros (Olytsika), is the beautiful village of Melingi. The Folklore Museum of Melinga is housed there next to the church. It was founded in 1994 and is maintained by Theoharis Sakkas, who wanted to collect and save the cultural heritage of his place.

The Museum is housed next to the church and the cypress where Patrokosmas spoke, in the old school of the village and today belongs to the Spiritual Center of the D.D. Meligon of the Municipality of Dodoni. In its three rooms, traditional tools, clothing, textiles, household tools, belts, utensils and rural kitchen furniture are housed.

Entrance to the museum is free, while visitors are impressed by the warm welcome they receive, as it is customary to offer tsipouro and fine snacks to Museum visitors. The Melinga Folklore Museum is open daily from 9 am. until 6 p.m. tel.: 26510.82319.
