The Municipal Gallery of Corfu was founded in 1978 and was originally housed in the Dalietou bequest building, located on Akadimias Street. Since 1995, it has been relocated and reopens in the palaces of Saints Michael and Georgios, with the aim of forming the core of the island's Historical Museum. It includes a large collection of rare works by Corfu artists, which come from donations.
Among them stand out: "The Murder of Kapodistrias" by Charalambos Pahis, "The Warrior of the 21st" by Spyros Prosalenis, "The Piano Tuner" by G. Samartzis, "The Sphinx" by Spyros Skarvelis, Ms.
The Gallery also hosts periodic exhibitions and presents works by young artists. Art History lectures and seminars are organized in the central hall, while concerts of small musical ensembles are also given.
