The Paleopolis Museum is housed in the palace of Mon Repo, which was granted by the Municipality of Corfu to the Ministry of Culture. The mansion (1831), the work of the architect Whitmore, is an example of neoclassical architecture. The Museum has been operating since 2001 and is spread over 13 rooms. On the ground floor there is supervisory material on the history of the building, the structure of the exhibition space, a permanent exhibition of photography, a chronology of the history of the island, material related to the first owners (Lord Adam) as well as the history of the excavation in Paleopolis. On the first floor are presented: the "Periplus" exhibition, the Agora of the ancient city (8th BC), the Roman baths and photographic material from the excavations in Paleopolis. There is also a DVD viewing area on the theme of "Corfu: from the ancient to the modern city".
