The Museum of Traditional Greek Costumes and Corfu Music is located in the traditional village of Pelekas in the Municipality of Parelia, 13 km west of the country. It is said that from the top of the Pelekas hill (Kaiser observatory), the German Emperor Wilhelm II (1859-1941) enjoyed the sunset. The Spyridoula Gotsi Collection, which includes local costumes, photographs and clothing accessories (buckles, hairpins, belts, etc.) from the 19th century, is exhibited in the Museum. There is also an archive of recordings of traditional songs, hymns and chants related to the local tradition.
