In the Holy Monastery of Paleokastritsa, in the northwestern part of the island, there is a small Ecclesiastical Museum with various sacred relics from the Byzantine and post-Byzantine era. In the Museum area we can see rare portable icons and icons, the most important of which is the Dormition of the Virgin with a silver coating. There are also numerous Gospels (silver and/or set with precious stones), sacred Vestments, and liturgical vessels. In the central hall is a skeleton of a prehistoric marine mammoth, an unusual exhibit for a monastery. From the paved and well-kept yard one can admire the wonderful view.
