Skala Potamias is located on the eastern side of Thassos, 15 minutes from Limenas. The Folklore Museum is housed in the building of Tarsanas (boat launch point) of Potamia. In the same area are the offices of the Potamia Educational Association, which founded the Folklore Museum. On the ground floor (100 sq.m.) folk dance classes are given, exhibitions are held and various cultural events are held. On the second floor, the Museum operates with exhibits and photographs from the history of Potamia, Thassos as well as old objects of daily use.
