A large part of the unique work of the popular painter, whose full name is Theofilos Hatzimichael, is gathered in the museum of the same name, in Varia, Mytilene.
Painting for a living, his works are scattered around Pelion mainly, where he wandered for thirty years.
His museum was founded in 1964, a donation from the art publisher Strandis - Eleftheriadis - Teriade, who in 1965 donated the building to the Municipality of Mytilini along with 86 paintings by Theophilos from his private collection.
