It is located in the coastal settlement of Vlychadia.
This is a private Museum, the life work of the Valsamidis brothers, where exhibits related to the sponge-making profession, a wide variety of plants and animals from the marine kingdom (fish, shells, shellfish, starfish, corals, sharks, turtles and of course all kinds of sponges) are presented ) and a number of commercial amphorae (6th to 2nd century BC) and other items from ancient shipwrecks.
In another wing of the museum, finds of the First and Second World War are exhibited such as torpedoes, pieces of airplanes, etc. There is also a collection of about 2000 photos related to the history and tradition of mops. After all, a part of the museum is exclusively dedicated to sponge fishing, where you can see all types of diving and sponge fishing tools used from 1872 until very recently.
