Gallery of the Municipality of Athens

It was inaugurated in 1974 and housed in the halls of the Spiritual Center and later in the former Municipal Nursery. It includes approximately 2,000 works of painting, engraving and sculpture by great artists, such as Parthenis, Iakovidis, Lytra, Gounaropoulou, Hatzikyriakou-Ghika, Roillou, V. Katraki, Tasso, Aparti, Tombro, Zongopoulou and others. Also on display are the portraits and small effigies of the mayors of Athens and other personalities of the city, since it became the capital of the Greek state until today.
