It is female monasterry, built above the Pyli on Mount Itamos and at an altitude of 640m. The view from the monastery is unique. The monastery was founded in 1743, looted or burned repeatedly (1770, 1823, 1854, 1878, 1943). It began to take its current form in 1961.
