The Androa Monastery of Agia Triado is built on a rocky hill (altitude 240 m.), in the village of Ano Gatzea, 20 km from the city of Volos. Nikolaos G. Tziortzos (or Tsourtsis) is mentioned as the founder of the Monastery. On the north side of the monastery, a tower is preserved from the Venetian Castle that was there and was destroyed in 1310 by Catalan pirates. The monastery was built in 1816 on the ruins of the Venetian Castle and functioned from 1963 until its abandonment in 1989. It reopened as a men's monastery and today is a part of the Holy Monastery of the Great Lara of Agios ?rus. The monastery area includes the single-chamber vaulted church of the Holy Trinity (with a modern wood-carved iconostasis), 3 chapels (of Agios Athanasios the Athonite, Panagia tis Gorgoipikou and Agioi Myroforos), ground and two-story buildings (cells, hostels) and a 12m high cross. facing the sea. There is also an exhibition space with various sacred vessels, including a chalice engraved with the image of the founder of the Monastery and the year of donation. The Monastery, in which 5 monks live, solemnly celebrates the Monday of the Holy Spirit.
