The Monastery of Agia Varvara, is the oldest Monastery in Skopelos, it must have been built in 1648, it is surrounded by a thick and high wall reminiscent of a medieval fortress and its iconostasis is the oldest in Skopelos (15th century), It is located near the women's monastery of the Holy Forerunner and today it is uninhabited.
