It is a building from the era of the Turkish occupation. A part of an early Christian church from 672 AD was saved in the courtyard of the Monastery. Until the beginning of the 20th century, the monastery was dedicated as a metochi to the Athonian Monastery of Xiropotamos, but then, with the consent of the Monastery, the estates were sold to private individuals. The Monastery celebrates on November 8.
