The Holy Forerunner Monastery was renovated in 1721 by Hieromonk Filaretos. The catholicon of the monastery belongs to the type of tetragonal cruciform inscribed church with lateral choirs (Athonic type).
Its wood-carved, gilded iconostasis is richly decorated with birds, animals, plants and consists of two pieces, one from the 14th and the other from the 18th century, while its frescoes are from the 14th-15th centuries
