The Monastery of Ai Giannis in Kastri which is located on the top of a 100 m high rock that juts out of the sea, and you need to climb 200 steps carved on the rock, to reach its top, where your eyes face the small church of, a magnificent landscape and a wonderful view. Tradition says that a fisherman from Glossa, while returning one evening, from fishing saw a light on the top of the rock. He saw it every night, until a woman appeared in his sleep and revealed to him that there is an image on top of the rock. When he climbed to the top he found the icon of Saint John the Forerunner. He took the icon, however, wherever he moved it, it returned back to its original position, where his little church was finally built, which celebrates on August 29. To go, just before you reach Glossa, you will meet on your right hand, a road that leads to Ai-Giannis in Kastri.
