In the gorge of Byros, near the Lykaki Monastery and the settlement of Pedinos in the Municipality of Lefktro, the destroyed Monastery of Sotiros can be found. According to a document from 1681, the Monastery was built in the 14th century. Its renovation took place in 1807 based on an engraved inscription located on the western side of the sanctuary. It is said that the Gospel of the Evangelist Luke belongs to the Monastery. The church of the Transfiguration of the Savior is a single-aisled basilica type with an eight-sided dome and a large enclosure in front of the church. South-west of the precinct, 2 rectangular buildings are preserved, dated 1864 and 1900. To the north of the temple, rocky caves can be seen. The monastic grounds also include an olive press and an apiary. All the buildings are abandoned and kept in bad condition.
