The monastery dates back to 1693 and is located in a uniquely beautiful location near the ancient city of Feneos, today's Kalyvia. Its special architecture, its beautiful frescoes, its wood-carved iconostasis are just some of the elements that rank it among the most remarkable monasteries of the time.
