The monastery of Panagia Kleivokas is located near Kontovazaina, on the western side of the beautiful gorge of the same name.
Access to the monastery is by a narrow downhill road on the left from the intersection to Velimachi, Kardaritsi, and Paraloggou that we meet leaving Kontovazaina towards Voutsi.
The monastery has been built right in the middle of a solid rock over 200m high. At this point, more than a century ago, the icon of the Virgin was discovered hidden in a cave.
One hundred and thirty stone steps lead to the courtyard of the small church, which is built at the mouth of this cave.
The monastery celebrates the Dormition of the Virgin on the fifteenth of August, while a festival is held on the feast of the Zoodochos Pigi.
